My students love to read and incorporate dance and drama with literacy. These materials will enhance their literature experience and help them to to embrace fiction and nonfiction with enthusiasm! The puppets from Lakeshore Learning that I have chosen will enhance participation and oral language use in my classroom during reading. The musical scarves will expand on their creative skills, and be the highlight of literature experiences when they combine creative movement with the learning of educational rhymes, chants, and songs. Read-alouds are a time when students really enjoy-I read on the carpet to them and often they participate. All of these items have been chosen with my students in mind-I have watched them the past few weeks of school and these magnificent props will help them continue to enjoy books as they come alive! With these new items, my students will be able to choose from a variety of songs and stories that will allow them to practice independently speaking and listening in the classroom. My goal is to help my students grow stronger in reading and build a strong, lifelong love for literature. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences!
