Fourth grade is so hard! It is difficult because we are just starting to dive deep into writing! With such a strong focus on content and writing skills, that reading for "fun" is something that I want to encourage in my 44 students. The potential that comes from "recreational reading" is astounding. There have been many studies that have shown that reading for fun is better for your brain. Students that read nightly have an increased vocabulary in conversation and in school subjects. With all of the "activities" that are available for students to do after school, reading falls off of my 4th graders radar. If they have fun, interesting books to read, reading would become a priority again. Therefore, I am requesting books through this project. Thank you for your support! My students will learn to love reading, all thanks to you!
