These art materials will give my young students an opportunity to use and explore their creative minds. It will get them away from mindless addicting video games and give them a unique opportunity to develop artistic talents. Some of my students have never had the chance to use these kind of materials! I teach art to around 500 students at A Elementary. Each week, classes come to my art room for an art lesson. Many of these lessons include the core curriculum students are learning in their regular classrooms. For example in the 4th grade core, students learn about Utah environments. So I have them paint or chalk some landscapes of deserts, forests, wetlands, red rock, etc. These are all environments we have in Utah. Students learn their curriculum through art. I need more supplies to make this happen! I go through a lot of drawing paper, paint, chalks, crayons, markers, glue, molding clay because I see such a large quantity of children throughout the week! My art program gives regular classroom teachers a break from their students, but it also is an opportunity for me to specialize in the visual art field and create projects that are meaningful! The art projects I create help students learn their science, math, reading, and fine arts curriculum in a fun and memorable way! Students also have the chance to express their feelings and emotions through visual art!! Good supplies are critical for a better outcome. Student's art is shown in the spring at an evening of Art for parents to enjoy. All the artwork is hung around the halls to create a huge gallery of student art! Supplies are necessary to make this all happen!!
