Due to ending last year with at-home learning, I have recognized that a majority of my students are stuck reading lower level books. These students are capable of reading higher level books, but they have become comfortable with the books they would have been reading last year. They have had a difficult time transitioning to 4th grade level books. I am working hard to introduce new genres, and to make reading exciting in our class. I would love to have some higher level, exciting books available for our class to really stretch themselves as readers. The iPad will be used to frequently assess students’ reading, making them aware of their growth as a reader.
