Young students learn best when they are given opportunities to play in a developmentally appropriate environment. The dramatic play center is usually the most popular learning center in a preschool classroom. It gives students the freedom to pretend and act out roles that they will likely have as adults. A work bench will allow my students, both boys and girls, to role play in order to learn about a carpenter's career. The tool belts and tool kits will allow students to explore the tools and uniform that are used by carpenters and other blue collar professions. Using the tools will help to strengthen hand muscles and to increase fine motor control as well as improve hand-eye coordination. Students gain valuable life experiences when a preschool classroom is rich with learning materials.
