I will use the 6 requested Chromebooks to help run two different stations throughout the day; one for math groups, and the other to allow for students to finalize and publish their writing, helping them meet the requirements of the Common Core standards. Not only will the exposure to technology help them throughout these small group settings, but it will help them learn and become more familiar with technology to ensure they are successful when it comes to taking their standardized tests. Our school is a K-6th school with two Special Ed Departments, and is a full inclusion school. Our community has very little industry or large business to enhance our tax base for levies/bonds. Our district relies on our homeowners for supporting our programs. A large population of our students are on the free and reduced lunch program. We have a great administrative support but even they cannot create the budget to allow enough computers for our students to be successful and prepared for the future. Putting technology in the hands of my students means more opportunities for on level challenges and smaller group activities. It also means that my students can take their tests without the worry of not knowing how to type or use technology to the best of their abilities. Having these Chromebooks, means having students prepared for the future!
