Due to the limited availability of the school Chromebooks I would like my students to have access to one in the classroom. It would be used to research. It would be used daily to publish the third graders writing. Google classroom allows me to monitor and give real time feedback as they write. Students would practice keyboarding. Third graders are introduced to keyboarding during the year and are expected to type a one paragraph essay, having a Chromebook available to research, publish and type their essay will motivate them to enjoy the writing process. My students love to research information using safe sites for their writing. They write daily about their reading and do weekly free writes. Keyboarding with a purpose helps them see the value in becoming a proficient typist.
