The materials listed for this project were chosen specifically to recruit student interest. This project will supply the much needed materials to make learning relevant, authentic, and valuable in students' lives and develop a love for mathematics. Also, the activities from the use of these materials will help strengthen and develop their mathematical understanding while learning the English language. There are so many hands on activities my students will be able to do with these materials. For example, with Jenga my students will be able to build structures and graph their height and width. With the drums we can explore music and fractions. In addition, math through art exploration, engineering strategies, and more!
