The algebra manipulatives would visually engage my 8th graders and help them solve equations. My intention is to make math interesting and fun to learn by having them visually understand the value of a variable when solving an equation. Algebra tiles and individual white boards will keep my students awake in math class and give them the hands on math experience. The individual white boards and expo markers will give my students the opportunity to be actively involved in classroom discussion when I ask them to display the answer to a problem, plus it is a fast way for me to see common mistakes that I can quickly address.
