This project will allow students to draft their own floor plans and create a 3D model of their plan. For the first few days of this lesson, we explore different styles of houses and their origin. Students will pick a style that they like and will use engineering rulers to draft a floor plan to scale on drafting paper. Students will label rooms and square footage and use their draft as a blueprint. For the final weeks of this project, students will construct a 3D model of their house using cardboard and hot glue. This project will introduce students to architectural engineering.
