College is a place for experimentation, for creativity, and for exploring new things. People take an arts class only to discover that this is the most fun they've had learning their entire lives (at least I did). I don't want my students to wait until the last step of their academic careers to realize that digital arts are amazing ways to express your joy, your hardships, your story to the world. I want to give my students the opportunity to use photoshop to create characters of their lives. I want to give my students the opportunity to edit videos that they took for their family. I want to give my students the opportunity to tell their stories using the images they created and create a short animated video to tell their story so far. Using the adobe cloud software and drawing tablets, we will be doing various digital art projects one of which will span the process of creating a character with the tablets using photoshop, editing a picture on photoshop to serve as a background, animating the character using adobe animate, adding effects using adobe after effects, and exporting the creation into adobe premiere where they will have a short 2-3 minute video. Videos will be shared at the end of the year as student created films to the entire school. This entire process will give students the opportunity to experience various skills and various professions to serve as a guide in their future careers they might enjoy pursuing.
