I have been thinking about putting in an order for these items for an entire year. I wanted to see if we could get by without them. Last year, though, I realized that my classroom library was not working. My students come from low-income homes. Most do not have books available to them in their homes, so they rely on my classroom library for good literature. However, the old-fashioned check in/check out system did not work. Since so many students wanted to check books out of my library, we were constantly losing track of books. This was not only diminishing my classroom library, but it was also frustrating to students who were waiting to read these long-lost books! Luckily this summer I discovered a website called BookSource. Once a teacher creates an account on BookSource, they can use it as a virtual classroom library. Students can check in and out books, read book summaries, etc. This will be an invaluable resource in my classroom and my students will be so excited that it is so high-tech! Thank you so much for your support!
