It's essential that these kids feel connected to the world and see what is out there. My students live in difficult situations, but they need to know that they are not alone. I want to inspire them to reach beyond the community they live in and make a positive impact in the world. Reading about world events, scientific discoveries and reflecting on what it means to them is key to their future. These students need to make connections in their texts to the world and their lives. Reading Time Edge for Kids will help them connect. Reading about the world will give them a better understanding of what's important. Motivation to make a positive contribution is key to ending the cycle of poverty.
