Having a comfortable place to read a good book is so important it is not as enjoyable to read at you desk. Giving students and area to kick back be comfortable and read a good book is so important to build the life long habit of reading. Students will use the reading nook and beanbag chairs during our literacy block, when they are participating in read to self or partner reading. Giving students comfort while reading is such a basic need, it is very hard to sit on the hard floor or in a hard chair for a long period of time giving students a chance to break that time up with use of the bean bags will add comfort to their lives and encourage them to read.
