By these rugs being donated my children won't have to sit on the cold floor anymore. We watch CNN 10 news daily when we start our social studies lesson and many of my kids like to lay in front of the smartboard as they watch it. I am also wanting a rug and pillows that will allow me to set up a cozy reading corner to motivate my students to read. I have several kids who say they like to read laying down and will choose to lay on the concrete floor instead of sitting at their desk. A softer, friendlier and warmer area for them to read will have them reading longer for the fact the rugs and pillows will make it so much more comfortable for them. Students learn better when they are engaged and comfortable and by having this area it will provide them with both of these things. Reading is something that the majority of my students struggle with and by having the opportunity to sit in this area will encourage their desire to want to read more.
