Diversity is a privilege that my students get to experience everyday. They have the opportunity to make friends of all different races, backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses. My students face several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite these challenges, my students still come to school with the desire to learn and grow as people. My students are energetic, emotional, and capable of becoming more than they believe. They struggle to focus when they are not moving. They have gone through more in their young lives than I have ever experienced. They need to be told that "They can do it!" I may not be able to stop the bad things from happening to them in their lives, but I can be somebody who is always there for them. I will be somebody who will work hard to teach them cognitively, emotionally, and socially. They are an amazing group of kids that deserve the best!
