My students are diverse learners who are eligible for special education services and programs. I provide the speech-language therapy portion of their individualize education program. The students I serve range from kindergarten to 5th grade. A good portion of them are English language learners who are doing their best in order to meet academic and language demands. They are enthusiastic about learning and really do give it their best. Unfortunately, at the present time, our school is not able to provide us with the technology needed to make learning more interesting for these students. Resources are limited and the need is high. My students need information and tasks presented visually, auditorily, repeatedly, and in a language that they can understand. I am good at what I do but I can understand how my voice, insufficient and inadequate materials, and paper/pencil methods become a bit boring after a while. My students need more. They deserve more.
