These materials will make a world of difference to my students because it is specificity written and designed for students to have success in phonics where they have struggled in the past. The Saxon Phonics Intervention is designed for older children struggling with reading and spelling in school. This course covers consonants, vowels, decoding, spelling, and reading comprehension. Children are taught explicit, predictable strategies for decoding and spelling words. Cumulative assessments occur regularly and specific remediation activities are provided for children who have difficultly. Classroom materials include 6 card decks to teach each skill,1 audiotape of phonetic sounds so that they can hear the skills used correctly, and a pretest and post-test, phonemic awareness assessment, assessment recording forms for me to use to monitor each students progress toward mastery. I am also asked for the workbooks that go with this program to reinforce the skills that we are practicing in guided intervention. I am a big believer in the “See IT Say IT DO IT” approach to learning, and I believe that each of these items are critical to bridging my student’s gaps in Phonetic awareness, I love my students very much and their learning to read with success means the world to me. These students deserve the best instruction that I can give them and these materials will mean the world to them and me. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.
