Attendance is a vital piece in each student's education. Students who are not in school on a regular basis cannot, for obvious reasons, achieve at the same levels as their peers. In fact, according to a national program dedicated to school attendance, “By 6th grade, chronic absence becomes a leading indicator that a student will drop out of high school.” (Attendance Works) Attend today- achieve tomorrow! Obviously, pupil attendance is crucial for optimal learning, but it's also important that students attend school so that they can create relationships with peers, teachers, and other staff members. In addition, the more time students spend in school, the more comfortable they are with the expectations and routines/procedures of the classroom and school environment, which optimizes learning potential as well. With only 44% of our school population attending the district-wide goal of 80% of the school year (2018-2019), we have decided to make some changes and shift some of our focus to improving student attendance. One of our main focus areas is to reward individual students with perfect attendance each month, as well as a group reward each month to the class with the highest attendance percentage of that month. Please consider donating to improve our student attendance so that each kid can reach his/her maximum potential!
