My plan for the requested Sunshine State Readers Award Books such as "Lemons" and "I Love You, Michael Collins" is to have my students read the books in groups (at centers) with follow-up discussions and activities which would include comprehension, writing, and any S.T.E.A.M. related activities or projects. The students would have in-depth conversations on characters, plots, settings, and content vocabulary, relating to our third grade tested standards. They would also present any projects done to the class. I will also read some of the books during my story time, throughout the year, and have them write in journals their predictions before each chapter and their reflections after each chapter.
