My scholars are in the third grade and most are at least 1-2 years behind grade level. In order to best meet their needs, our classroom library needs to be stocked with books on their reading level. Closing the gap can only occur when students have access to books they can read. I also desire to fuel in them a love of reading and having books they can successfully read will help us all learn. Please help our class achieve THE POWER OF READING so that their hopes, dreams, and goals can come true. My scholars will use these books to Drop Everything And Read (Dear) everyday for 30 minutes! They learn reading stamina necessary not only for state testing, but more importantly for college. They love to read to each other, with others, and to me. This project allows them to read books at their level successfully.
