Not only will these materials help my students organize their thinking and their materials, but it will bring about a peace of mind. The start of the school year often results in anxiety for students who might not be able to buy everything on their school lists. I never want my students to worry about whether or not they can be successful because they may lack the ability to purchase proper supplies. My students will use the Sharpies to highlight aspects of their essays that demonstrate their understanding of proper organization; they will use the manila folders to store their handouts and their works in progress; the binders will be used to keep track of all assignments for those who were absent; and the desk organizer will be used to increase the organization of their Student Center. With flu season right around the corner, the hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, and tissues will be essential in keep our space germ-free, thus keeping students at school!
