If you walk into room 307 at Thomas Jefferson International Newcomers Academy you will hear a dozen different languages. You will see students from Syria working with students from Rwanda on a presentation. You will see students from Puerto Rico checking books out of our classroom library. You will see an incredible amount of curiosity and eagerness to learn. You will see a dozen hands raised all asking, "Miss, is this correct?" You will see scholars working together, navigating cultures and language, all with a common goal of learning English.
