After a 20 year hiatus, I returned to the district where I started as a teacher. Why return after 20 years? I taught in other schools in other disricts, but Alief is home. I have wonderful, hardworking students. Are they the most fortunate? No. 85% of our campus receives free lunch. For 75% of the students in my class, English is not their first language. This, however, does not effect their desire to learn! They arrive every day and join me in a quest for success. I am interested in helping them build a foundation that will help them succeed in the 21st century workplace.
