My classroom is filled with various learners. There are those who recently moved here from a new country or state and are trying to acclimate to a new culture. Some of the students have learning disabilities that challenge them to successfully understand the concepts. Others come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and don't have the home life that can properly support their learning needs. And, still others are gifted and desire a challenge. I try to instill a safe learning environment for all of these learners to be successful and have a desire to explore and investigate in a scientific environment. To attempt to meet the needs of each of these learners, I make lessons hands-on and fun with labs and lots of collaborative learning.
