All of the books are the selections for this year's (2018) Global Read Aloud. We are requesting one book per classroom for teachers to read aloud. We want all classrooms reading, and are including administrators and support staff (nurse, cafeteria workers, custodians), to promote community in reading. The fifth graders will read Amal Unbound (young Pakistani girl works to overcome adversity and pursue education), 3rd & 4th graders will read A Boy Called Bat (autistic boy deals with relationships and being able to keep a pet), and PK-2nd graders will read picture books that introduce them to people of diverse backgrounds. This also helps promote empathy towards others.
