Materials such as boxing gloves, punching bags, head gear, hand wraps etc. will be necessary for boxing classes which are designed to teach students fundamental skills of the sport. Other skills we will teach students include (but not limited to) managing money and raising funds to maintain a healthy organization. The boxing organization is what our students envisioned, and it consists of three student leaders that are heavily involved and want to make a lasting impact on their community. These students need to make sure they have a healthy way of releasing stress from either their personal life or in school. A lot of times adolescence is about navigating to adulthood from childhood because this is such a gray area, we often discover there is a lot to overcome. Our students need outlets such as boxing to express or release daily stress. To start small, we are requesting boxing gloves.
