I am requesting monthly Scholastic Math magazines for each of my students that are below grade level in math. They will be used to show them real life relavance to using and understanding mathematics on a daily basis. Many of these struggling students do not understand why they even need math or when they will ever use it. The magazines will show them why math is important and when they will be using it as they grow into adults. The magazines will also support them in language arts by having nonfiction passages to read and discuss. Nonfiction is typically a difficult concept for them and extra practice is always needed.
