I teach in a school that is very diverse with many different languages spoken at home. Students come to my classroom with curiosity and want to learn new things every day. We focus on teamwork, sharing ideas and working together to think and solve problems. We build a community in the room where every voice is heard, and students can reflect and relate what we are learning in class, to the real world and their own lives. We participate in many small group learning activities, and students are respectful and thoughtful toward one another. My students enjoy helping each other and being a teacher to each other. This not only supports their own learning and language development, but the learning of others as well. The diversity in our classroom makes our learning community stronger and passionate about learning!
