Our school-wide reading and math program helps over 240 students each semester. Some of the children in our program are reluctant learners, and we strive to provide resources that will actively engage them in math and reading. Instead of using workbooks or worksheets we want to provide the kids with materials that make learning fun. The kits that we have requested attack math and reading skills in exciting and fun ways and give the kids objects that they can manipulate to provide a solid understanding. In addition to being used in our math and reading classes, these kits will also be available to teachers to check out. In this way, we hope to reach not only the students in our groups but the children in all of the classrooms.
