In my student teaching I was in a classroom where all students had flexible seating and it was amazing to see how focus and motivated the students were in their learning. My students will love being able to choose seating options when they are working independently in my classroom. I want my students to be able to love to read and find a space in the classroom where they feel comfortable. This will help them stay motivated and excited during independent reading. During the primary grade levels where students begin to read it is highly important to keep them motivated and excited so they can continue to enjoy reading in upper grade levels and throughout their life. I want to provide them with a variety of seating choices so they have an option to choose what works best for them as an individual student. My students need a variety of seating options including a beanbag seat, wobble cushions and a comfy floor seat. I know my students would benefit from flexible seating and I can't wait to see their excitement and engagement with our new seating options.
