As First language learners, my students need intensive instruction using a multi-modal approach. As Deaf/Hard of Hearing individuals, they miss out on incidental language learning. Their families need to learn Sign Language and ways to help the students continue their learning at home so that the students are not only acccessing language and learning in school. Making and sharing videos of the students signing will motivate the families and students to learn Sign Language. The families don’t necessarily have the time or access to Sign Language classes. This will encourage and foster success for my students by helping their families to easily communicate with them. For this project I am looking to purchase a GoPro camera (on the Techies’ recommendation), a 3 year warranty, a tripod and mounts, and a flah memory card. This will enable me to record and share the students as they sign the vocabulary they are learning and then practice and learn at home with their families.
