Our first unit, or inquiry arc, will challenge our fifth graders to grapple with this question: what happens if we destroy Earth's ecosystems? Where will we go? As part of this guiding question, students will be creating artificial biomes that would support life in space, as well as designing and building space rovers to complete tasks that humans can't. We'll be learning how to code robotics programs, use gears, levers, and sensors as part of a working robot, and work collaboratively in small teams to solve meaty, complex problems. Lego Robotics are a powerful, yet costly teaching tool. We believe that all students are deserving of hands-on, fun learning experiences. Thank you so much for helping to give them this opportunity. It is this type of skill that will make them engaged students and successful 21st century citizens.
