Learning how to play the recorder is what a majority of my students look forward to when getting to the third grade. In the mind of a kid, it's what they consider a "real" instrument. During distance learning, while students have access to many rhythmic instruments in their home, they don't all have access to a pitched instrument. Most of them rely on getting that experience at school in the general music classroom. Please help me put a recorder in the hands of each of my upper elementary students. Most often my students use the classroom set of recorders available for them to borrow at school. At home, they don't have that option. While a $7 fee for a recorder may not seem much to spend on an instrument, for the parents of my students it can be money for gas to a much-needed job.
