I am a middle school science teacher in a high needs school in New York City. I teach sixty sixth grade students on a weekly basis. Our school serves 1,849 students. We have a very diverse population in which 10% are African American, 34% are Hispanic and latino, 52% are Asian, and 4% are Caucasian. We are a high need community in which 100 percent of our population qualifies for free lunch.
