My goal is to provide the students with the necessary tools to support them in understanding and applying mathematical concepts to real world applications. The curriculum includes lessons that focus on multi-step equations for 7th grade and exponents and scientific notation for 8th grade. At their level of learning, my students need a calculator that has more than just the basic functions. Having scientific calculators will enable me to teach my students how to properly use technology that is commonly used in high school and college courses. For many of my students, knowing how to use this specific technology will prepare them to compete with their peers for future academic and career opportunities.
