My students can make vivid, richly detailed drawings with quality colored pencils. This media allows a great sense of accomplishment, as they are easy to use. The right materials help students to value themselves as artists and creative thinkers. A good quality pencil sharpener is necessary to ensure the pencils last longer. Making 3D art provides a rich and therapeutic experience for tactile learners; which most children are! It also contributes to fine motor development. We have almost everything we need in order to delve into the realm of making projects with clay, except for the glazes. Glazes provide the necessary finishing touch on kiln fired clay, making it beautiful, safe and waterproof. My students are anxious to begin creating clay projects!
