As soon as their class assignments are completed, my students try to make their way over to the reading corner to enjoy a book on the sofas, comfy folding chairs, or carpet. They enjoy having the down time to relax with their favorite book and engage in meaningful conversations with their classmates about the books they're reading. The classroom is their second home, so upon entering, any visitor can see and feel the warmth, comfort and engagement in our room. It swells my heart just to see them squeeze together to read on the small sofas and to hear them giggle when they come across something silly in their story. Or when they're laying on their bellies doing journal writing in pairs and sharing what they've illustrated. They amaze me everyday! Your generous donation to our classroom will help instill the love of reading and learning in my young scholars!
