We have to put our papers we are working on, on the floor or in our seat sacks during the day. It causes issues with stepping on supplies and papers. It would give everyone some needed storage and organization. We have lockers in the hallway to put our backpacks, but we can not go to the lockers every time we need to put a paper away. I do not have storage in the classroom to keep everyone's papers that we send home together, either. This would help me and the students keep organized and make our day run smoother and easier. I have been added as a teacher right before the year started, I do not have the supplies that the other teachers have. I also need math manipulatives and items for the students to use in centers. The school can not order me supplies until they get more money, which right now, we are not sure when that is going to be. I want to teach my students number sense and using the Rekenreks will help with that. We can also use the Geometric shapes to teach 2D and 3D shapes, they are also fun to trace around the edges onto paper. I would like to have the geometric building blocks to help students understand how STEM can help with other subjects. I plan on using the magnetic ten frames for me to demonstrate for the students different ways to make 10. We use the Unifix cubes for all kinds of things, they really like to stack them together to make patterns, and see how long they can stand them up, which ends up relating back to the engineering part of the STEM.
