We are the classroom of the "sper nios" - SUPER KIDS. Everything we do revolves around our four super powers - listening ears, kind bodies, super words, and happy hearts. The super kids are made up of pre-k (4 year old) and kindergarten (5 year old) students in a developmental bilingual program (Spanish and English). It is our goal to be biliterate leaders: fluent in the reading, writing, and speaking of both Spanish and English, and determined to use these skills to be peacemakers and world changers. The population that makes up the super kids lives in urban Milwaukee. A good portion of our class comes from low-income households. Our classroom provides an essential opportunity for them to connect with friends, learn about the world, and explore without limits. For that reason, I strive to make everything we do hands-on and meaningful, so that the worth and adventure of a good education stays with them forever.
