Mathematics for most students is a hands-on, visual experience yet we lack the materials for students to actively engage in the learning process. By contributing to this project you will ensure students have access to mathematical thinking in multiple ways. Each of these materials is specifically designed to provide small group instruction to all students using math games, visual models and cooperative learning.
By providing multiple opportunities for students to engage in mathematics in fun and interesting ways we disrupt the "I'm not good at math" mindset and begin building confidence and interest in mathematical relationships and concepts. With these materials students can work with visual models of fractions, show their strategies on whiteboards, play fun dice games while improving their fluency and so much more! Together we can teach students math is challenging yet rewarding. We can begin shifting students' understanding of how mathematics is intertwined and interdependent on numerical concepts rather than facts to memorize. Together we can leave the textbook behind and bring math alive for the next generation. Thank you for being a part of this journey!
