The Pathfinder Program is outdoor adventure opportunity for students designed to get kids outside. In fact, that is our slogan, “Get Outside.” This is our 31st year, and as you can imagine, some of our equipment is getting tired, and/or in need of complete replacement. The Pathfinders Program operates in all seasons, but we are particularly trying to grow our winter programs. Winters in Maine are long, and this is the time of year when kids are most prone to sedentary routines. I am proud of our school and community who have embraced the idea of getting kids outside so much that we now have a regular daily class dedicated to it. With this newly designed class, our equipment has become inadequate to support the growing interest in outdoor winter sports. My request is for 6 new sets of snowshoes. Students in the daily outdoor education class, as well as students in our after-school outdoor adventure program, will be able to utilize this equipment. I am deeply appreciative in advance. It is so important to get kids outside for their physical, social, and emotional benefit. I am thankful for your contribution to make a difference in my school's kids' lives.
