My students are not equipped with the right kind of calculators or timing watches that are officially approved for use during the ACT. These two items are set to be used during the test, including correct time markers for each testing module. Most of my students only have calculators and watches on their phones which are not approved, and many of them don't even have access to those. These two items will give my students the advantage needed to keep up with their peers in more affluent schools. We will keep these in our classroom, and check them out to students for use on official National Test days. In addition to this we will use them weekly on our in-class practice tests, in order to familiarize students with their function.
