As a first year speech-language pathologist (SLP), I've been relying on materials left in my room from the previous therapist as well as asking for donations and trying my best to purchase engaging items myself. I think my kiddos would enjoy some fresh, new, options for therapy to help invigorate our sessions together. These materials will help target goals that many of my students are working on, making these materials diverse and (FUN)ctional. For example, some of my students are using The Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and would benefit from materials that assist with matching with one-to-one correspondence. Additionally, games and picture cards would help support my students' expressive and receptive language goals by targeting vocabulary. Many of my students have sequencing and retelling goals and would benefit from a story wheel to help them formulate stories on their own with visual support! Did you know that using blocks in therapy can target TONS of goals? Think about it: stacking, cause/effect, counting, turn taking, requesting, and so many more! The materials I've requested would help support these goals and so many more! We would appreciate any donation, no matter how small. Thank you for taking the time to look at this project. Please rest assured that your donation will go a long way!
