Having a cozy and appealing place for reading will help motivate students by creating an environment which allows them to get lost in a book and sink into a good story. My students need comfortable seating to make reading a positive, cozy and enjoyable experience. Several of these children do not have reading support at home. Many come from disadvantaged homes and participate in our school backpack program which supplies children with food for the weekend. My goal is to not only improve reading skills, but to also provide them with a safe and comfortable environment to help fulfill some of their basic needs.
