Reading is one of my biggest passions; I want the same for my students. I strive to keep a classroom library that is current and full of options so each student can find a book to enjoy. Over the years, I have been able to create a library that has great choices in several different fiction genres at many different levels. Two genres in which my students need more choices are nonfiction and graphic novels. Today's students are required to spend more time reading informational texts. In order to be prepared for this, they need access to informational texts that are current and engaging - not just books that have been in the library for thirty years. They also need access to new genres such as graphic novels. These books have become very popular, and I want my students to be able to read what their peers around the country are reading.
