Our poor music library has not been updated in 30 years. My students don't know who Barry Manilow or The Carpenters are. I can't bear to make them sing those songs. With our small budget, I am barely able to buy one piece of music for just one of the choirs. These kids love to sing and they love good quality music, both pop and choral classics. As a Title I school, my students don't have the same opportunities as most of their peers. They don't get to take private music lessons or attend the symphony, but I can teach them how to make good music on their own. The music is our text book.I am asking for sets of six different pieces of music including The Mermaid's Lament and Music Down in My Soul. We achieved a superior rating at festival last year and we want to do it again this year. My students work so hard and I am so proud of all they accomplish. Please help my students.
