Art is essential for all students, but especially those who have been set up to fail. My students come to school without pencils, without any supplies they need to academically succeed. I see nearly one-third of the student body at our school each year. My art studio is a haven for all students to succeed and create. My high school students see me for more than 3 hours a week, and we work hard to express ourselves and create works of wonder in the studio.
