My students are brilliant, inquisitive, beautiful continuation high school students from San Francisco. These students have already lost hope once in their previous schools, and I refuse to allow that to happen again as they try re-engaging with their education. We need the equipment that will help ensure their second-time around is a richer and equally rigorous experience! Writing is often a determining factor in college success, so as a humanities class, we try to grow as writers each day. At a time when basic word-processing skills are imperative for applying to a summer job, or entering your first semester of college, it is unfair for my students to enter the job or college scene without these skills. Our classroom has no technology available for producing their writing in the way technology demands today. This also limits our ability to explore the world through multimedia in the classroom!
