Our students were able to spend more time in class to focus on their learning with full bellies as opposed to letting their bellies rumble as a distraction. As many of our students come from households experiencing food instability, this HUGE impact you've had on their day to day has been so important and taught them the true impact of community. The work we do in schools is imperative to all of our future society, so thank you in taking part in such a positive and profound way.\r\n\r\nThe snacks fueled the students through their school day as well as our off campus experiences. Without your kindness and generosity, my and my co-teachers would be reaching down into our own pockets in order to feed our class of hungry future leaders. And, after teaching a field based environmental studies program for more than 25 years, I also know with certainty that my students will explore more enthusiastically, observe more diligently, and gather evidence more energetically if they eat. These are the reasons I am truly grateful for the snacks your contributions have provided.\r\n\r\nThis semester, my students explored redwood forests, from county parks to state parks to Redwood National Park. Their inquiries questions ranged from \"How does redwood tree anatomy and physiology enable them to be 'ever-living?'\" to \"What makes a forest a forest?\" to \"Why are old growth redwood forests so sustainable?\" During each investigation, the snacks you provided enabled them to focus on the forest instead of on their hunger pangs.\r\n\r\nAs we close out this semester, I am happy to report that the majority of our students are excited to return to the field next semester. I am glad that their interest in the environment has been piqued.","fullyFundedDate":1757965306015,"projectUrl":"project/lets-take-this-outside/9715305/","projectTitle":"Let's Take This Outside","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Salvin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10262072_orig.jpg?crop=1680,1680,x1008,y1223&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757904104598","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10262072"},{"teacherId":595884,"projectId":9067762,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity towards my class.
